Review: Avon Advance Techniques Absolute Perfection BB hair line

Hey Beauties!

Avon recently added a new hair line to their Advance Techniques range. It's called Absolute Perfection BB. Avon sent it to me and I was intrigued to try a BB for my hair.

It's suppose to have 10 benefits: nurture, protect, nourish, improve shine, fight against environment humidity, smooth, hydrate, tame curls, silk smoothness and make it easier to style.

It's basically suppose to work as those BB creams for face in order to provide you with many hair benefits. Now, I personally have a problem with products that market themselves as multi-functional products, because let's be real...If there was one product that could do it all, we wouldn't need to buy 6 product for our hair care. That's the whole point of marketing, it tries to give you specific products, so that you need to buy more of them in order to achieve your desired result.

The packaging is a classic black plastic. It has gold writing and a lavender base for you to separate this line from others. I like the simple, but functional packaging.

Avon Advance Techniques Absolute Perfection BB Shampoo

It's pearly white and it has a very smooth feel to it. It's more on the runny side as far as the texture goes. It's not greasy, just silky. It feels enough nourishing for a shampoo and it does a good job of cleaning the hair. I actually took it with me to the seaside and it cleaned my hair well after a long day of salty water. It lathers really well and quickly, which is always a joy. The hair does feel a bit stripped down with this shampoo, as it is left squeaky clean. I am really not picky about shampoos, so it's a fine one.

Regular price is 4.50€ for 250 ml.

Avon Advance Techniques Absolute Perfection BB Conditioner

Conditioner has a white like cream texture. It's thicker than shampoo, but not greasy feeling. It has a very slick feeling to it and it's definitely more nourishing than shampoo. I actually think this is my favorite product from this line. I would say it's more suitable for normal to slightly dry hair, not so much for really dry. Because it does hydrate it, but it's not greasy or provides you with deep hydration. Good every day conditioner.

Both shampoo and conditioner have a subtle hair salon like smell, which I've grown to love. The smell stays on my hair for at least a day.

Regular price is 4.50€ for 250 ml.

Avon Advance Techniques Absolute Perfection BB Treatment Mask

Mask is like a cream. It's not too thick and not too thin. It feels a bit greasier to the touch than conditioner. It coats the hair with a very smooth layer. When you're washing it out, it makes your hair extremely soft and smooth to the touch. I think it's a pretty good mask for providing hydrating and smooth effect to the hair. I will say this is more for normal to slightly dry hair. If you're ends are damaged and very dry, this will probably not be enough for you. It sort of reminds me of Redken's All Soft Heavy Cream mask, but a much lighter version of it.

The mask has a bit more muted salon hair smell with a bit of something else, which is not as pleasant as shampoo and conditioner smell.

Regular price is 5.50€ for 150 ml

Avon Advance Techniques Absolute Perfection BB Beauty Balm Leave in Treatment

It has a pearly white color and it's very runny. It also feels greasy when you massage it into the hair, however it's not greasy when you blow dry the hair. It's suppose to also be a heat protect and a finishing product for your hair.

When I blow dry my hair with this , they are straight but not silk to the touch. Hair actually feels a bit crispy like some texture was added to it. It's definitely more suited for normal hair or it might even be best for oily hair. It doesn't give you that silicon silky hair. This would be perfect for curling the hair or beach waves, because it gives the hair some texture and they feel  a bit crispy to the touch. Doesn't tame your frizz in fact it may promote it a bit.

It feels sticky and crispy to the touch, right after the blow dry. However, as the day goes on the hair gets a bit less sticky, but feels thicker for some reason. Maybe that's just my dry ends.

I can't say I like this product. It's not for my hair and it doesn't really do any good for my dry ends. I might use it, when I'll curl my hair, because it seems like it gives me some added texture and thickness, which I need when creating curls.

It also has an unpleasant smell. At least to me. It smells like a hair salon smell mixed with something sour.

Regular price is 6€ for 150 ml.

To conclude, I like the shampoo. Good every day shampoo and it cleans the hair well. Conditioner is the star product for me. It gives you enough hydration and silky smooth hair. Hair mask is good for when I don't have extremely dry hair and the leave in treatment is a no go product for me.

I hope I gave you some ideas on what I think this hair line is suited for. If you have very dry to dry hair I would recommend you to try Avon Advance Techniques Supreme Oils. Shampoo and conditioner from this line are amazing for dry hair. If your hair is normal to oily, then try this Perfection BB care. But I don't recommend getting the leave in treatment, unless you're hair is healthy and nourished enough. It may perform different on you, I can't say it works the same on all hair types.

Avon Advance Techniques Absolute Perfection BB šampon

Avon Advance Techniques Absolute Perfection BB balzam

Lase prekrije z zelo gladkim slojem. Ko si perem lase, so ti ekstremno mehki in gladki na dotik. Maska nudi dovloj vlažnosti in glakosti.

Daje dovolj vlažnosti in lasje so svileno mehki.

Forest green eye makeup

Hey Beauties!

I recently came upon green Catrice eyeshadow, that was on a discount and I fell in love. I totally forgot how great Catrice single eyeshadows are. I've been craving green and since fall is fast approaching, you might like this forest green eye makeup.

I used yellow toned nude matte shade all over my lid. Then I added warm matte brown in the crease and above. I darkened the crease with chocolate matte brown shade. Then I added dark green matte shade in the crease as well and on the outer part of the eye. Here comes Catrice beauty of shimmery dark green eyeshadow all over the lid.

Around the lower lash line I also put light brown shade and darker in the outer half. Then I added dark matte green in the outer part closer to the lash line and I added shimmery green more towards the inner part of the eye. I used gold champagne shade in the inner corner of the eye.

I did my usual winged liner and lots of mascara.

I did my usual bronzer, contour and highlighting routine. For cheeks I used peach matte blush and for lips I used peach based brown lipstick. I love love this green. Do you like green eyeshadows too?

Review: Catrice Prime and Fine Professional Contouring Palette 010 Ashy Radiance

Hey Beauties!

Contouring hype still hasn't gone away and the product choices in my local drugstores are poor. That's why I was really happy when I saw this Catrice palette on their promo photos. I bought it with no hesitations, since the contour shade looked promising in the store.

It costs 4.69€ and you get 10 grams of product. It's a palette that contains highlighter and contour powder. I decided for the shade 010 Ashy Radiance, because the contour shade looked ashier than in the other shade. I didn't care for highlighter, because I liked the highlighter in the other shade better (it was more gold).

As you can see it has a black plastic packaging with transparent lid. It closes securely. On the back you have picture with where to apply each product

Both powders feel pretty dry to the touch and I like that their not overly pigmented. You need to build it up in order to get more pigmented shade. That's always helpful with contouring products, because you don't wanna look like you have lines drawn on your face.

Highlighter is pink toned but very whitish light. In my opinion it's a very light highlighter shade for light to fair skin tones. If you're medium toned this might look too white on you. It has very fine shimmer, which gives it pearly sheen, but is also a bit obvious if you look at it closely. It's not my favorite shade, because I much prefer champagne and gold toned highlighters. This will be amazing on cool to neutral light skin tones.

The contouring shade is lighter brown matte shade with grey undertone. It's actually just grey enough to pass as a contour, but won't look like you have dirt on your face. It might look warmer on warm skin tones, like it does on mine. I assume this will look more coolish on cooler skin tones. In my opinion this is perfect very subtle contour shade, which goes on sheer enough to look natural. You can build it up to suit your intensity level.

I wanted to show you what the contour shade looks like compared to my Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit in Ultra Fair C01 - bronzer. I like my bronzer to be warmer, because it suits my yellow skin tone. As you can see the bronzer is really orange based compared to the contour shade from Catrice.

I also mentioned once that I use Essence I Heart Nude eyeshadow in the shade 05 My Favorite Tauping, which is a lot more grey compared to Catrice contour. This is perfect for those who want something grey and maybe cooler toned. I was mixing this on top of my bronzer to get the contour shade that I wanted. It's also the least pigmented, so you can slowly build it up.

I also wanted to compare highlighters. Catrice Contouring palette highlighter is actually the least shimmery and most subtle of these all. It has a pinkish white shade and it need to be really built up for intensity, but will still not look really glowy like most of them.

P2 Glow Up! Highlighter Eyes and Cheeks in 021 High Beam is the most bright pink toned of them all. It has an obvious pink gold shimmer sheen and it's pretty sheer.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer is the yellowest of them all. It has fine glitter, but is also the most shimmery of them all along with Metal Glam.

Essence LE Metal Glam in 01 Gold Digger is very pale yellow toned and as shimmery ad The Balm.

Catrice Highlighting Powder in 020 Champagne Campaign is peach toned champagne shade and it has smaller shimmer, the same as Makeup Revolution one.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit in Ultra Fair C01 highlighter is very peach toned and it has medium sized shimmer, the same as Catrice Highlighting Powder.

Catrice Prime and Fine Professional Contouring Palette in 010 Ashy Radiance highlighter is the least shimmery and has a light pink undertone. It almost feels like a shimmery powder and not so much a true highlighter. It's the least impressive to me, because I like shimmery highlighters.

I actually really like the contour shade and find it just grey enough for my taste. This gives you enough definition if you have fair skin, but won't make you look like you have dirt on your cheeks. I love to pair my contour shade with my bronzer. Bronzer gives my face warmth and contour shade gives my face definition.

I don't care about the highlighter at all. It's too white and too light for me now and I'm not even tanned. I don't like the pink undertone in it. I get it, this shade of palette was meant for cool skin tones, but you can be fair and have warm skin tone. The other palette seems to have way warmer contour shade, that I could just use for bronzer and wouldn't be ashy enough for contour and the gold toned highlighter would suit me so much better. Here's a wild suggestion Catrice, how about another third shade of palette and maybe give us grey toned contour with golden highlighter? Because yes, you can have yellow skin tone and have light skin tone. Shocking I know?!

I like the light pigmentation, that provides me with light application. I love the contour shade, because it looks really nice on fair skin tone and is just grey enough. I don't care about the highlighter at all. It's too white and stark for my skin tone. I got it for the contour and I'll probably use it up. If it could only be paired with champagne or gold highlighter, it would be an absolute success for me.

Review: E.l.f. Makeup Lock & Seal

Hey Beauties!

This has been sitting in my drawer for almost a year. I don't even have a good explanation for it. I tried it once, it was the wrong application and I hated it. Now I tried it another way and I love it.

It's E.l.f. Makeup Lock & Seal. This is one of those sealing liquids that should seal in your makeup. I heard about this and how good it is, but wasn't really convinced, until I finally googled how to use it and tried it.

In the set you get the liquid, small standard eyeshadow brush and one clear pot. It costs 3$ and you get 15 ml of it.

The liquid is in a plastic black packaging. It's small and compact.

The brush is also black with synthetic black bristles. For my taste this is too hard to use on the lids. I usually just use my usual eyeshadow brushes with it.

The clear pot is very small, but big enough to fit in eyeshadow brushes.

The texture is very liquid, almost like water. The opening is perfect to get out one small drop. One drop is all you need for one eyeshadow application.

I put one drop in the pot and use my eyeshadow brush and swirl it in the pot. I try to coat the brush as even as possible. The brush will be a bit wet. Then I just swirl it a bit on the tissue, to get off any excess. When the brush is lightly damp I pick up eyeshadow and apply it as normally.

If the brush is too wet it might leave some residue on the eyeshadow itself. It may also be a bit harder to blend the eyeshadow, because it's a lot more intense looking and it can get patchy quickly.

That being said, if you blend it properly and pack it on, this will stay for a whole day and not move at all.

As you can see I did my usual eyeshadow. I put some matte shadow in the crease, some shimmery shade all over the lid and some in the inner corner. I also applied the sealer on the liner brush.

You can basically use it with everything. With lipsticks, blushes, eyeshadows, eyeliners... But I really wanted this to work for eyeshadow. I assume this would be amazing for glitter on the eyes or pigments.

The eyeshadow stayed perfect for the whole day. Of course I had to try it in one of those extremely hot summer days. I swear, my eye makeup was melting this month. It was so hot outside and I was sweaty and the makeup was sliding of my face. But with this, nothing. It stayed exactly how I applied it. I am seriously impressed.

I also used it on my eyebrows with my eyebrow powder and it was just as perfect.

I speared you from showing my entire face, because trust me, you do not wanna see how my foundation looks after 12 hours.

If you use small amount and really build up the intensity, this is magic. It will seal in your makeup and it will stay perfect for the entire day. It's so cheap and so effective. Elf did it again. I love this brand and can't wait to buy more of their products.

Review: Essence Liquid Lipstick 03 Almost Real

Hey Beauties!

Did you already get anything from Essence new regular range? I grabbed one of their liquid lipsticks as soon as I saw it in their preview of fall/winter new products. I've seen Catrice's as well, but for some reason didn't wanted to spend that much money on something I didn't even know, if I'm gonna like.

It costs 2.79 € and you get 4 ml of it. I like the simple clean with no writing packaging. It's plastic and transparent, so you can see the product shade. For some reason this simplistic design really appeals to me. It's also pretty small, so perfect for carrying around.

It has a doe foot applicator, which holds quit a lot of product. Maybe even too much for one application. It's super soft and it works fine for distributing it around the lips.

I chose the shade 03 Almost Real. It's a peach based light brown nude. It's definitely warm toned and one me it looks like a peachier brown version of my lips. I can't say how glad I am that they did peach nude shade instead of the usual pink.

It's very pigmented for a liquid lipstick. With just one swipe you can cover the lips. I can't say about other shades, but this one is really pigmented. It doesn't feel sticky on the lips at all, just very heavy. It's one of those really obvious thick formulas, which feels so comfortable on the lips. As far as the comfort this reminds me of Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoothers, just thicker and more pigmented version. It will look shiny, of course.

It wears off nicely, because it fades away evenly. Of course it's not long lasting, since it goes off as soon as it touches glass or food. If you don't eat or drink this has some really good staying power

My only problem with this is that it can look weird on the inside of your lips. It forms a very obvious line. If you blend this as soon as you apply it and don't rub your lips together, there shouldn't be this problem.

I haven't had really dry lips lately, just a little and it didn't really make the dry patches any more obvious.

It has a very subtle sweet smell, which reminds me of vanilla or cookies.

I'm very pleased with this lipstick. What I like the most about it, it's the so comfortable feeling on the lips, good pigmentation and the warm peach toned nude shade. The packaging is also really nice. I can't say anything bad about it. It's not revolutionary, but it's a really good product.

Review: Essence LE Make Me Pretty Precise Eyeshadow and Powder & Highlight Brush

Hey Beauties!

Apparently I need more brushes. Of course I don't. But, I actually bought only the ones, that I felt are missing in my collection. New LE of Essence called Make Me Pretty served us assortment of synthetic colorful brushes for different parts of the face.

I decided that I need the Powder & Highlight brush, because it was an interesting shape, that it's great for contouring and highlighting. I also got two of the Precise Eyeshadow brushes, because I always need something small like that. I only have one pencil brush in my collection.

Precise Eyeshadow Brush

In person this is a minty colored brush. It looks more blue on my photos. It has a pencil brush shape and it's in fact great for any precise work on eyes. It costs 1.99€

The bristles are pretty long and soft. They are dense, but the brush still bends a lot if you try to use just the tip of it. They are mint colored.

I love to use this for two parts of the eye. One brush I use around the lower lash line. I use it horizontally on the lash line, because that way the bristles don't bend as much. I find that it gives me just enough of a shadow. It doesn't come too low from the lash line.

Other brush I love to use in the inner corner. I love how precise it is and the fact that I can place the eyeshadow just in the very inner corner.

This can obviously be used for any precise application. I also think this would be good for applying eyeshadow on top of the gel eyeliner or for applying some glitter and such.

It's good, but I only wish the bristles where a bit shorter, so that you could get more control of them. This goes for the application around the lower lash line. I find it great for the inner corner, just as it is.

Powder & Highlighting Brush

This is bright neon orange colored brush. It has a fan shape and it's a lot wider than it is thick. It's a bit more orange in person. It looks too yellow on my photos. It costs 3.59€.

The synthetic bristles are also bright orange color. They are very soft and I love that. That's why I love cheap synthetic brushes, because they are often extremely soft. The bristles are a bit tapered, forming a rounder top. The brush is very wide, but thin from the sides as you can see on the photo. This is perfect for highlighting and contouring. I'm not so sure about the powder.

I tried to use it with a powder and it was good, but I prefer rounder brushes for powder. This is good if you just want to slightly press the powder on certain areas.

It's good for highlighting the cheeks. The brush is just thin enough to fit on tops of the cheeks. It won't give you the precision of smaller brushes, but I find that it does a good job of blending the highlighter on the tops of cheeks. I won't use it on the nose, because it's to thick for that and I like smaller brushes for more precision.

I find it amazing for contouring. Because it's so thin it fits perfectly under the cheekbone. I just apply some of the product onto it and settle it under the cheeks. Then I just slightly brush it on and it's perfect. Thin enough, but can be blended towards the lips. I also use it around the hair line lightly and on the jaw. It' also perfect for sculpting your neck. Not the best for nose though, because it's too thick for that.

I'm happy with the brushes that I chose. I like that they are really soft and work for what I was planning on using them. The color and design of it is also really pretty. Those should be part of their regular line and maybe they should add some other shaped brushes to the line.
