Review: Cvetka Bio Herbal Deodorant - Hug of Gentleness

I like to try natural products every once in a while and some definitely impressed me in the past. It's a lifestyle change that is becoming very popular. One of those products that people like to change out for a natural one is definitely deodorant. As I am a sweaty pig, deodorant is my most needed product on daily basis. Let's see if I got along with this Cvetka Bio Herbal Deodorant in Hug of Gentleness (Cvetka Bio Zeliščni Deodorant - Objem Nežnosti).

Cvetka is Slovenian natural brand that offers many different skin care and body care products. I was first introduced to them on a blogger event. Currently they offer three different scents of deodorants. I chose the gentlest one, because my skin is sensitive and I didn't wanted to risk it.

They promise you to neutralize the sweat and feel soothing on the skin. It contains six homegrown herbs. It's free of aluminum, parabens and has organic certificate

It has cardboard packaging, which is degradable. Since I got it, it has changed the color. It seems like it soaked a bit of moisture from the deodorant and it's darker looking now.

In it is 50 ml of product and it costs 8.40€

I am not thrilled with the packaging. It has a very simple system. You push it out from underneath. I didn't get it at first and pushed out too much product. You can't pull it back in once it's already out. So I advise you to just push out as much as you need with one use.

Ingredients list is definitely clean. There are no artificial ingredients in it. It's basically coconut oil, sesame oil, corn starch and herbs (chamomile, marigold, thyme, rosemary, cinnamon and  lemongrass).

I don't like the texture of it. It's really hard to to the touch which I suppose it's because of coconut oil. Especially now that is colder, it doesn't really melt as I would have expected it to. It has light yellow color. My problem with it is that if you melt it with fingers, you still see lumps of what must be corn starch. Therefore the application is also hard. If you apply it straight from the bullet, you mostly just get lumps of corn starch on your skin. It doesn't melt when it comes in contact with skin and it sort of just sits on the skin. It also doesn't melt through the day. I still find pieces of corn starch at the end of the day.

I like the scent, because I like herbs in general. It has very natural fresh herbal scent. If you dislike natural scents, you probably won't like it. It's not too strong, but it definitely is present.

It didn't work on me, because I expected it to prevent me from smelling bad and it didn't. If I don't do much and I'm at home, it sort of does its job. But as soon as I start to sweat, it doesn't prevent my skin from smelling bad. This could be just me, because I really do sweat quickly and a lot (especially in summer). I am also very used to antiperspirants and I like that they prevent me from sweating. So it was a thing to get used to. I tried to used it on its own, without getting my usual antiperspirant, but I did every once in a while, when I knew I was going to be on an event that I can't afford to smell.

Unfortunately, for me personally this doesn't get a thumps up. It didn't prevent me from smelling bad. I don't like the hard texture of it, because it's hard to apply. I would almost prefer it as a more balmy product in a pot, that would melt under my fingers. I like the scent, because it reminds me of kitchen and cooking. Considering the price, it actually will last you a long time, because you use such a small amount at once. It's still a bit pricey for my liking. I think the fact that all ingredients are completely natural is a plus for those of you that are looking for those type of products. I guess I am not really a natural deodorant girl. Have you tried any that you like?

*PR product.

  1. Super objava in fotke!

    1. Super, da ti je ustrezal. Meni žal ni. Se verjetno preveč in prehitro potim. Jaz sem prvič preizkusila naraven deodorant in očitno to res ne bo zame :).

Mi je Nelipot veliko boljši :)
